A very different kind of holiday season is upon us. One that has us ordering most of our gifts—and our groceries for that matter—online. It has us wearing masks to drop off holiday cookies, or to pick out a tree. And, we’re planning get-togethers with our loved ones via Zoom.

I wish I could say that the ball would drop on 2020 and 2021 would look completely different, but I don’t see that being the case. Although, hopefully, we have an end in sight, I’m afraid we’ll be feeling the impact of COVID-19 for a while. As we make the most of the holidays during these strange times, I want to share something that has kept me going.

It’s easy to jump to all the things we’re missing out on, or the traditions we can’t observe, due to this pandemic, but we also have to remind ourselves of the opportunities we’ve had to make the most of these circumstances. The times we’ve found ways to connect with our communities, even from afar. The instances we’ve delivered, personally and professionally, despite the barriers. The examples of when we’ve seen people step up to help others when, really, we could all use a little help. The ways in which we’ve been reminded of all there is to be grateful for. 2020 has truly given us some of the sourest lemons, but we’ve also made some of the sweetest lemonade.

For many of us, it’s been arguably one of the hardest years we’ve had. But, somehow, we’ve made our way through. As this year comes to a close and we look towards the future, I hope you can all continue to find joy amidst all that has made 2020 so difficult. And, wherever you are, in whatever creative way you’re celebrating this season, I wish you and yours health and happiness.

Thank you for relying on us this year. We look forward to being there for you for whatever comes next.
